It's a strange little poem. I'm not sure what the title is, who wrote it or where it originated. For the purposes of this blog, I was too lazy to look it up. (Feel free, faithful readers.) But it is a poem we are all familiar with, citing the various differences (albeit slightly skewed) between boys and girls. When I first learned I was going to be a mom, I was hoping for a boy. I'm not sure why. I had always been better friends with boys/men and figured I would be able to better relate to a little boy. But I was happily blessed with a little girl and I have no idea now what I would do with a little boy if things had been different. Life is funny that way. With my daughter and my nephew being born so close together, I have been able to observe their development and what happens when they reach the same milestones and just how different boys and girls really are. I would like to find other parents to talk to about the differences in raising boys and girls for an upcoming story.
